Reiki is a gentle, non invasive form of energy healing that originated in Japan. The word itself translates roughly as "universal life force energy." As a practitioner, I act as a channel for this energy, directing it through my hands to support your body's natural healing processes.

How Does Reiki Healing Actually Work

During a reiki session, you lie down fully clothed in a comfortable position. I place my hands lightly on or just above different areas of your body, following the natural energy centres. The energy flows to wherever it is most needed. You do not need to do anything except relax and receive.

Most people feel warmth, tingling, or a deep sense of calm during a session. Some people fall asleep. Some experience emotional release. There is no right or wrong way to experience reiki. Your body knows what it needs.

What Can Reiki Help With

Reiki supports healing on every level: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. Clients come to me for all kinds of reasons. Some are dealing with anxiety or stress. Some are processing grief or trauma. Others simply feel stuck or exhausted and cannot explain why. Reiki does not diagnose or treat specific conditions. What it does is restore balance to your energy system, which creates the conditions for your body and mind to heal themselves. After 17 years of practice, I have seen reiki help people in ways that continually humble me.

Can Reiki Be Done Online

Yes. Distance reiki works with exactly the same energy as in person sessions. Energy is not limited by physical space. I offer online reiki sessions via Zoom to clients in over 30 countries worldwide. Many clients tell me their distance sessions are just as powerful as being in the same room.

What Is the Difference Between Reiki and Shamanic Healing

Reiki channels universal energy for relaxation and balance. Shamanic healing works more directly with the energy body to remove heavy energies, retrieve lost soul parts, and clear ancestral patterns. I am trained in both and often combine them depending on what each client needs. You can read more about the differences in my blog post comparing the two modalities.

How to Prepare for Your First Reiki Session

There is very little you need to do. Wear comfortable clothing. Find a quiet space where you will not be disturbed for about 90 minutes. Have water nearby. That is it. I will guide you through everything else during the session itself.

If you have never experienced reiki before, I encourage you to approach it with an open mind. You do not need to believe in anything for reiki to work. You just need to be willing to receive.
